616-618 Kossuth Street
As a collaboration between Mutual Housing Association of Southwestern Connecticut (MHASWCT) and Catholic Charities, the Conger House, located at 616-618 Kossuth Street, will mix independent living with a supportive environment, providing eight units of affordable rental housing to tenants with special needs. Named after the original owner, the House is one of Washington Park’s oldest houses and one of the last in the Park needing major work. CommCap gave MHASWC a half million dollar loan to help renovate the historic home for this new and important purpose. |

1621 STRATFORD AVENUE
As Daniel Kryzanski drove down Stratford Avenue he noticed a sign on a brick building undergoing renovations. Seeing “This Project Funded By Bridgeport Neighborhood Fund,” he quickly called to inquire about financing for his own project to transform a former bar into two units of affordable housing. BNF approved the loan for Kryzanski and his business partners to renovate their property located near the Bridgeport border in Stratford. The loan represents both a last and a first: the final loan approved by “Bridgeport Neighborhood Fund” and the first loan given for a building outside the City limits. |

2126 SEAVIEW AVENUE
When developer John Bello received his tenth loan to rehabilitate 2126 Seaview Avenue, the project included complete interior and exterior house repairs, landscaping, and fixing the sidewalks, and curbs. The restoration was contagious as neighbors followed Bello’s lead and had their sidewalks re-cemented as well. |
