CommCap serves as a vehicle for public dollars that are invested in economic and community development projects. In this role, Commcap facilitates the implementation of Federal and State programs that support business and affordable housing development

Since 2005, CommCap has facilitated the investment of over $10 million in public funds:

• $4.3 million in State funds into Downtown mixed-use developments
• $1.5 million in Federal EDA and City of Bridgeport CDBG funds to assist small businesses
• $1.0 million in City of Bridgeport HUD 108 funds
• $2.5 million in Federal EPA/City of Bridgeport funds to assist remediation of Brownfields
• $900k in State of CT Housing Trust Funds for the development of affordable housing
